State of Decay tips, strategies and modding guides

I’m a seasoned player who has been addicted and obsessed with State of Decay since it first came out last  year on June 5, 2013. I’ve logged thousands of hours on both the Xbox 360 and PC playing the original SoD, DLC: Breakdown, and DLC: Lifeline.  The goal of this blog is to help my fellow gamers with SoD, including:

1) Up-to-date tips, strategies, and walkthroughs for the original State of Decay, DLC: Breakdown, and DLC: Lifeline. Right now, the internet has plenty of sites offering tips and strategies for SoD, but the vast majority were written before the recent title updates, and thus have outdated and often incorrect information.

2) Guides to modding SoD, including creating your own characters, editing facilities, difficulty, etc. There’s lots of awesome mods out there, but nothing beats making your own changes. Create your own character or edit a current survivor or hero–give them the skills, experience, weapons, etc. you want. Get rid of those custom weird names the game creates with new survivors and/or maybe put your friends in the game. Start Breakdown with your team already assembled and ready to go. Mod your facilities to allow the creation of individual bullets, make better suppressors, make snacks, make more items (say 10 steel pipe bombs instead of 2), or even create new “train outsiders” commerce options (ex: train outsiders in the medical lab for 15 medicine, train outsiders in the machine shop for 15 construction materials), etc. Customize radio options. Change what types of items are found in certain locations during scavenging.  Make the game how you want.  I’ll walk you through, step by step, to show you how it’s done.
